16th Century: The Paris Stave
The oldest known Finnish runic stave is in Paris, in the Sainte-Geneviève library. We would like to thank the library staff, especially the head of department, Yannick Nexon, for their kind help. We also thank the Finnish Society of Antiquities and the Finnish Museum magazine.
Read more about the Paris stave in the 1952 article in the Finnish Museum magazine Le calendrier runique de la Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève (pdf)
