University Almanac
The University Almanac (Yliopiston almanakka) and Universitetsalmanackan bring together a wealth of information between their covers. They include all of Finland’s official public holidays, commemorative days, flag days, and name days. The pages of the almanacs also feature information on the movements of the planets, commemorative days of different religions, the most popular first names, as well as market and fair days.
The traditional University Almanac of the University of Helsinki was first published in Finnish in 1705. Until 1996, its name was simply Almanac. The Swedish-language version has been published since 1608, and today it is known as Universitetsalmanackan.
Both the University Almanac and Universitetsalmanackan are available in a compact A6 format, and the Finnish version is also available in an easy-to-read A4 format. The current publisher of the almanacs is Ajasto Paperproducts Oy. Retailers may contact the publisher directly.
